S6, What to Expect

Sid returning once more to bring you more information on the long awaited 6th season of the somewhat infamous SideShow webshow. I've got Havoc with me again this time so that he can help answer some questions and give us a glimpse into the future and help us understand what's in store a little better.

Sid: Welcome again.

Havoc: It's getting to the point you don't need to welcome me.

Sid: Noted, well how much are you prepared to share with us today Mr.Ishtar?

Havoc: Just about whatever it is you want to know within reason. Keep in mind that I have absolutely no estimation on when you'll see Episode 52 yet.

Sid: Alright, well how about we discuss the line up you have established for season six? Some have noticed you have added 3 new members just in recent months, anything you'd like say about that?

Havoc: We were never against bringing new people in, however we aren't the most social group either so that brings limitations to our options. Whenever we consider an addition to the cast we have to not only try to imagine what they bring to the table, but how well they will get along with the group as a whole. I personally wanted to make this season special though since we've been without any new videos for quite some time, and searched more actively for new blood to help establish the newest season from the rest.

Sid: Will adding so many new members have any effect on the amount of footage we see from other parts of the cast? Are you going to be pushing the older cast members to the sidelines to make room for the fresh meat?

Havoc: No, doing that would make the new season feel more like a totally different web show merely taking the place of SideShow. Regardless of the season, whenever I edit an episode I try to balance out the videos so that it's not a series of clips from one particular cast member. I do my best to make sure that if I have 2 Enigma clips I put an Okidoki or Subaki clip in between them using whatever footage I happen to have at my disposal. Now on the other hand if I have a stockpile of footage from the new members and barely anything from the older cast then I don't really have much choice in the matter.

Sid: Some are saying this is probably the largest cast SideShow has offered fans, is that true?

Havoc: Sort of, in the original season we had a ton of people sign the back of a notebook and they were what you could call the "original" cast. However this was back before SideShow was technically established as this was for the preceding group formed by Matty & I known as Jackass Junior. In season one of SideShow however there were a few people that were only really seen in episode one that didn't stick around to keep things going. but the point I'm trying to make is we've had similar numbers before it's just you hardly ever see them all at once.

Sid: Word is that the first official meeting for season 6 production is coming up in about a week or so, is that true? If so who do you expect to show up and what do you plan to accomplish?

Havoc: Yes we are going to attempt to get everyone together really soon with the hopes of accomplishing a few simple things. Firstly we will be reviewing what SideShow has done so far and discuss some of the changes we will be applying to the new season. Organization will be more crucial then it has been in the past, as we will be working on acting a little better, working angles more, addressing each other by alias, and so on. I have quite a few plans for how I intend to deal with the new season AND the 2nd movie. If I manage to get the new camera by the meeting we will also be filming an anime themed opening that will be used at the beginning of every season 6 episode. (any members that miss this first meeting are likely to miss out on appearing in the intro)

Sid: Sounds like you already have quite a bit planned. Do you expect any trouble with getting your ideas across to the other cast members, or maybe having them implement them?

Havoc: Haha, all I can say to that is expect the worst and hope for the best. There has been some issues that have presented themselves already but none I can't move the show past. This might worry the faithful fans but a couple of our longest running members have been showing some disturbing signs of disinterest. As much as I'd like to avoid doing so, these people are leaving me with less & less options each day, they may end up having to leave the show. I won't get too involved with this because there is no certainty behind these claims, but when we have our 1st cast meeting on the 27th I'll be taking careful notes to who attends. It was stated in the past that the cast meetings will not be mandatory, but your attendance & participation is taken into consideration with your membership. If these members force my hand then so be it, the show must go on either way.

Sid: That sounds rather ominous, any hints on who we're talking about here?

Havoc: It appears rather ominous to me, and no I will not give you any hints. You'll know who IF & WHEN the worst happens as we have no intention of just kicking them out for no reason (although reasons are building for both). So I guess when it comes to the cast number we were talking about earlier expect anywhere from 6-8 members.

Sid: Six or eight cast members sounds about right, that seems like the number you've had since the beginning.

Havoc: I guess so, even though when we established SideShow we had also decided that we would not allow more than 12 cast members at a time we have never actually had that number at any given time.

Sid: Alright one last question before I let you leave to go play your Minecraft.

Havoc: Shoot.

Sid: If you were to make a guess which past season this new season of SideShow would be most like which would you have to say?

Havoc: Well let's see that's a tough one. It'll have the channel switch transitions in it, intro clips before each opening, bonus clips after the credits roll...I think I want to say season 3. That was the season we got our new camera, went through a cast change, added the intro clips, and really set the foundation for episode structure. The only real difference should be a more varied cast, and more than one take per skit.

2 New Cast Members Revealed!!!

Only about an hour ago Havoc Ishtar revealed what the current cast looks like for SideShow Season Six! For the time being they have 8 members participating this season, 5 of them are returning members (Havoc, Okidoki, Subaki, Enigma, Matty) and one is a member we were only just introduced to in episode #51 (Hazmat). With this recent news however we are given a sneak peek at 2 members already confirmed to be appearing for the newest season of the web series. Both these members are even adopting the ID #'s that 2 previous members left in retirement.

The first, Fenix Blackstar, is being introduced by Havoc & Subaki early season 6. His personality is unusally chipper compared to most of the other members, so this could make for an interesting contrast in the cast. Havoc also gave word that Fenix will likely be preforming many of the stunts that involve pestering the public as he is one of the friendliest people they could find.

Last but not least, Necro Smiley, a person who has been around & seen much of SideShow as it progressed. He a;ready been involved in projects with SideShow members, and even appeared briefly a few times in the web series already as an extra. Now however Necro is joining the stage with the rest of the SideShow crew!

Season 6 Production to begin sometime July

Hello and welcome to all of you ladies & gentlemen once again!!! It's been a hectic and long wait, but that should be coming to an end soon enough (it's not soon enough!!) as SideShow makes it's final plans to push into production. I am here to share with you all the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good:
SideShow head Havoc Ishtar issued a memo recently stating that the cast of the somewhat infamous web series will likely begin to hold meetings to improve brainstorming, filming, & review current footage. These meetings are currently being tossed between biweekly or monthly, but either way is much more than they actually set to sit down and focus. The meetings are estimated to run about 1-2 hours with the brainstorming/review and any filming from there would be a result of the completed meeting.
Aside from that the main issue facing season six's progress is the lack of a reliable camera, which is soon to be resolved. Havoc has been browsing through a lot of different cameras, and he believes he has found one to fill the need. It should bring better video (1080p), better audio, and hopefully that same spark that each camera has brought to set the fire that is SideShow.

The Bad:
Estimations retrieved from Havoc are still pretty unsettling, as he hopes to grab an extra member or two for the cause and get the camera before kicking production into gear. He just about has the money for the camera, and has a couple people in mind for the cast, but still deems production won't actually begin until sometime in July. The exact date is a mystery and we were only told that the cast would know and that's what matters. I'm sure we'll find out soon after their meeting begins with a group photo or something.
There is also the worry on many fans minds concerning the RELEASE of season six rather than the production, which looks to be just as bleak. SideShow recently posted a NEW video containing NO NEW footage teasing season six to it's subscribers. It's intended to get people interested and to let them know that they still plan to release it, but in it's description it estimates the actual release "sometime 2014".

The Ugly:
Rumors have spread about some internal issues with the cast, but I have been declined for comment. The only words I could get from Havoc were, "there are no internal problems with cast members, at least not that I have been made aware of".
Nothing certain can be gained from this statement, but one can only wonder why someone who has usually been so direct as to answer any question I had would decide to suddenly cease doing so.

That's all for now, and in closing I'd like to say a few things. Who knows if there is a problem going on or not, from what it seems the message I'm getting is that it's not a problem of SideShow's and will not affect SideShow's progress in it's production phase. So I think it's safe to assume we can all expect SideShow season 6 no later than 2014.

Been a Long Time Coming

Well hello there yet again denizens of the cyber-verse!!! It's your old pal Sid E.Show again, here to update you on the most infamous unknown web show this side of the milky way!

As many know, and others discovered in a previous news update, SideShow has been in the web show equivalent of a coma. However I have been brought word from the mysterious forces at work that SideShow is gearing itself up to get the cast set, camera's rolling, and season six a' moving.
Anyone who actually reads these news updates knows that this is about the time I call in a cast member to interview. Anyone who actually reads these news updates also knows who I am about to interview, once again #0!!!

Sid: "So Havoc, what's new this time?"
Havoc: "Well since the last time we've spoken details involving the direction of SideShow in the future have been mostly hammered out, and we have a much firmer grasp on who is still a part of the cast. We also updated this site with a bunch of minor and major tweaks here and there."
Sid: "What sort of details are we talking about here?"
Havoc: "I'm not at liberty to discuss what exactly these details are, but I can say it will effect the style of the episodes a little bit."
Sid: "Alright, good enough I suppose. You used the phrase 'firmer grasp' instead of firm grasp when mentioning your cast, what exactly did you mean by that?"
Havoc: "Well we collected info to update the site with from all our members and in these messages we sent out we allowed the option to retire if they wanted to, just so we would at least be made aware and could update the site accordingly. We don't know if a couple people want to remain or not, and in the worst case they will be temporarily removed and will return as whatever rank they were if need be."
Sid: "So do you have a good estimate on the size of season 6's cast?"
Havoc: "Currently there are 6 confirmed members, 1 member we're waiting a response on, 1 member waiting on an initation, and a couple that are waiting for the site update so they can fill the form out and get the process started. So My estimate is about 7, maybe 8."
Sid: "Sounds like a decent roster. Anything else you'd like to note?"
Havoc: "..."
Sid: "Alright then...Thanks for giving us another inside scoop!"

Season Six Recast!?

    Yes it is true that rumors of season six coming up on the horizon have been floating around the internet for quite some time now, but that's what I'm here for. Now as many of SideShow's facebook followers may have noticed, there was a note quite some time ago detailing what the crew was up to and what they had planned not only for their sixth season but their second film.

    Much of the delay in the arrival of the new season is due to varying issues with our members, including but not limited to scheduling time for SideShow, personal inconveniences, and even just a lack of ambition that the elites and I find rather disturbing. The same can be said for the sequel movie which was being planned for this upcoming holiday season, which it is unlikely to be finished for.

    Word on the street is the Elites of SideShow are calling for a MAJOR re-casting for their long anticipated season six, which is likely to only further delay it. I wanted to get to the bottom of things once I heard such an outrageous rumor and sat down yet again with the head honcho himself, and here is what he had to say about the rumored re-cast.

    "As much as it displeases me to have to say it, yes the rumors of a re-casting are completely true."

    "So does this mean that you are dumping the entire cast? Or maybe just a few members in particular?"

    "We would rather avoid losing any members, however the level of interest some have been showing isn't very inspiring at all. To answer your question though we plan on asking current members if they'd like to remain, the choice will be up to them for now."

    "You used the phrase 'for now', does that mean something could change with these plans in the future?"

    "Yes, we are giving the members who haven't been very active time to change that, if it goes too long without any real change in effort then I'm afraid some people may get the boot."

    "That is unfortunate, but I suppose I can see the necessity in it. Getting back to the subject at hand however, if you are truly re-casting does that mean there will be new members?"

    "Of course, it wouldn't do us much good to potentially lose a handful of members without recruiting any new additions to the cast. Currently we already have two newbies awaiting further confirmation."

    "Good to know we have new blood to look forward to, but wouldn't recruiting at this point only further delay the already consistently postponed new season fans have been waiting for?"

    "Well yeah, but we are only taking in recruits we believe will have a positive outcome on the new season. Look at it this way, right now we are filming just about nothing at all, but if we can get some members who will show up and actually participate in filming we'll actually be able to get somewhere with season six and the second movie."

    "Speaking of the second movie, how will the re-casting affect it?"

    "It could only effect it positively. We had the intention from the second movie's conception to include any member from our past five seasons, and I don't see why we wouldn't allow the new recruits to be a part of it."

    "Thank you for taking the time to explain this to not only me, but all of SideShow's fans."

    I know this is a bit late to be posting a welcome message seeing as how the site has been live for about a month now, but I have only now gotten the time to sit down and start the SideShow news back up. Sadly I don't have all too much information for you, but I do have some insights to share from the crew themselves.
    First of all i'll be answering the fans who have been asking about when season six is set to premiere. There is no set date for the new SideShow episodes to release yet sadly. The crew is still hard at work planning, filming, and editing clips for the next season. They plan on taking a little more time with the process in hopes of creating a more enjoyable experience for our fans. Although no specific date was given the members did hint that they would begin releasing episodes at a steady pace in the near future.
    On another note, the sequel SideShow movie has entered the planning stages, however it's still too early to make any predictions on a release. I can tell you that the new film is supposed to be fairly upgraded from the previous SideShow movie. It is expected to retain a few highlight clips from seasons preceding the movie similar to the original, but will be built around a core of fresh clips. There has even been rumors that there will be a SideShow veteran or two making an appearance in the sequel movie.
